Latin America & Caribbean: Renewable Energy Grid Integration Orientation Visit

In cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy and the Inter-American Development Bank, USTDA hosted a high-level Orientation Visit from Columbia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, and Panama to advance the dialogue among Latin American and Caribbean leaders on grid modernization. Tuatara was responsible for the entire technical program, including a financing roundtable, as well as developing the marketing strategy and outreach for a reception and business briefing. The visit focused on the integration of renewable energy resources and energy efficiency technology int the electric grid in the context of integrated energy systems planning. The delegation met with U.S. clean energy suppliers and visit project sites that utilize U.S. clean energy technologies, including Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado. the visit included meetings with federal and local officials to discuss regulations and best practices. the visit included an industry roundtable on Tuesday, October 28 in Washington, D.C. with the delegation sharing upcoming procurement opportunities in the region with U.S. companies.

The delegation attended a roundtable at the Department of Energy led by Secretary Moniz and USTDA Director Zak.
Workshops were held at the City Hall in Istanbul.
