About the Event:

Mr. Reji Pillai, President of the ISGF, describes the opportunities in India for smart grid products, technologies and solutions:

“Smart grids have emerged as a key enabling infrastructure to develop smart solutions to resolve India’s energy woes. Smart grids are also crucial to the Government of India’s key projects: 100 Smart Cities, 175 GW of renewable energy by 2022, 40 percent Renewable Energy by 2030, electric vehicles (to combat air pollution) and smart meters.  Smart grids can help in selective load shedding, for example turning off the load for air conditioners or water pumps in off peak hours, rather than load shedding across households which is what is happening now”.

Opportunities for U.S. Companies in India’s Growing Smart Infrastructure Market

India is presently spearheading some of the largest transformation projects with technology interventions for building smart cities, renewable energy and power grid modernization. Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has committed to provide 24x7 reliable supply of electricity to all the citizens in the next 5 years. This transformation provides excellent opportunities for U.S. companies offering products, services and technologies that can deliver solutions for the ongoing grid modernization, renewable energy and smart city projects. These will be in high demand at ISGW 2017.  Discussion of these smart grid and smart city issues and solutions will also be among those topics discussed during the Conference and other networking sessions.
