Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) selected Tuatara Group to direct the deployment of their New Kingston Smart City Demonstration Project. The project builds off of Tuatara’s work with JPS to advance the implementation of the company’s Integrated Smart LED Streetlight and Smart Grid Project, which is being rolled out nationwide with over 110,000 Smart LED Streetlights.
The New Kingston Smart City Demonstration Project will evaluate potential smart city solutions to support infrastructure in areas such as Smart Grid; Intelligent Transportation; Potable Water Supply; Emergency Response, Safety and Security; Solid Waste; Public Health; and Environmental Services.
Tuatara Group is honored to have the opportunity to continue its work with JPS to develop its smart city vision and the tangible solutions that will serve JPS customers and the people of Jamaica.
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is supporting the project with a grant to JPS. Tuatara Group’s Doug Shuster attended the virtual grant signing ceremony with leadership from USTDA, JPS and the U.S. Embassy.
