JPS has partnered with Tuatara Group to develop a New Kingston Smart City Demonstration Project. Tuatara Group and U.S. Trade and Development Agency funded the project development.

The Project leverages the existing JPS smart streetlighting infrastructure completed in 2020. In collaboration with stakeholders, Tuatara developed a 10-year Smart City Roadmap for New Kingston to illustrate the potential for future deployment of smart city technologies, including a conceptual smart urban design plan.
