Terry Mitchell, Senior Associate - Energy

Mr. Mitchell is a natural gas specialist (BS and MS in geology from the University of Washington and Oregon State University, respectively) with over 35-years’ experience in energy-project infrastructure development, natural gas exploration and production, gas supply and transportation contracting, energy-market analyses, natural gas and LNG asset optimization, and gas-portfolio strategic planning. He previously worked for Amoco Production Co. (now BP), following which he co-founded GeoTrends Inc. which conducted CBM production drilling programs in the San Juan Basin (Fruitland Coal) region of Colorado and also in the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Mitchell has managed gas supply acquisition for domestic and international power developers, including InterGen (a Shell-Bechtel international power development company) and Calpine, among others. Mr. Mitchell provided Commercial Development expertise for Houston-based LNG America (www.LNGAmerica.com) focusing on business development strategies for the company regarding scalable and replicable “hub-and-spoke” architecture for supplying LNG to power generation, utility peak shaving and high horsepower fueling markets (including marine bunkering services). Mr. Mitchell more recently managed the Houston-based LNG sales office for State of Alaska enterprise Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (www.agdc.us) in marketing LNG in Asia from its proposed Alaska LNG project (www.alaskalng.com).
